Rajma Masala-Rajma Gravy without onion

Ingredients :-
Rajma/Kidney beans - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 3/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Salt as required
For Grinding
Ripe juicy tomatoes - 3 (big)
Green chilli -1 deseeded
Ginger -1 inch piece
For the seasoning
Oil -2 tbsp
Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
Asafoetida/hing - a pinch
Preparation
Wash rajma and soak it for 6- 8 hours. Pressure cook rajma with a little salt until soft.
Grind tomatoes, green chilli and ginger to a fine paste and keep it ready.
Method
Heat oil in a pan, add the ingredients mentioned under seasoning.
When cumin seeds/jeera sizzles, add the ground paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala and coriander powder.
Cook until oil separates.
Then add the cooked rajma along with needed water (use the water in which rajma was cooked), needed salt and cook for a few minutes on low flame.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Rajma Garavy is now ready.
Serve it with hot rice, phulkas and chapati.
