Oats - Dates Barfi

Oats - a dates parhpi

Ingredients : -

Oats - a cup,

Dried grapes,

Dates (without seed) - 1/4 cup,

Dark chocolate as you required

Cashew nuts, walnuts as you required

Preparation:-

Roast the nuts in a kadai on medium flame. You can also toast the nuts in an oven. I used almonds, cashew nuts, few walnuts and hazelnuts. You can use nuts of your choice. Chop nuts into small pieces after roasting it. This is the hardest part in this recipe. Powdered 2 tbsp of nuts alone coarsely as it helps in removing the moisture if any, though it is not necessary.

Remove the seeds and chop dates into small pieces. You can buy soft dates with or without seeds.

Method

Heat ghee, add the Oats, fry it on low flame stirring well.

Heat the Chocolate and melt it. Then add the Oats, chopped dates and dried grapes and powdered (2 tbsp) nuts.
Mix everything well and cook for a few more minutes. Remove from flame and leave it to cool.

Refrigerate the shaped mixture for 2 hours or until it hardens.

After it hardens, cut it into pieces and store it in a container in the refrigerator.
