Honey Mustard Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients
2 dozen brussels sprouts
1.5 tbsp honey
1.5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
1/4 cup water
ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
1. Wash the brussels sprouts, trim off the knobby ends, and slice the sprouts in half lengthwise. Place in a medium pot. If a few leaves fall off, recover them and toss them in too.
2. Pour the honey, vinegar, mustard, and water into the same pot and mix together until everything is dissolved (except the sprouts)
3. Turn the heat to high, cover the pot, and boil the brussels sprouts in the honey mustard sauce until tender (about 10 minutes). If during cooking it looks like there's not enough liquid to keep the sprouts at least 1/4 of the way submerged, add a bit more water.
4. Allow to cool slightly then serve, garnished with fresh black pepper.
